Job Title: Fractional VP of Engineering
Location: Remote UK
Salary: £70,000 per annum
Our start-up software business is seeking a fractional CTO who has come from a program manager background to join our team. The Fractional CTO will provide technical leadership to our team and ensure that our technology strategy aligns with our business goals.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement the company's technology strategy to support business objectives
* Provide technical guidance to the development team and ensure that software development practices are in line with industry best practices
* Develop and maintain the company's software architecture, ensuring that it is scalable, secure, and efficient
* Work with the product team to define product roadmaps and ensure that technology requirements are included
* Collaborate with the leadership team to prioritize technology initiatives and manage the technology budget
* Manage relationships with technology vendors and partners
* Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and security policies
* Stay up to date with emerging technology trends and assess their potential impact on the business
* Hire and manage the development team and provide mentorship and leadership to team members
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
* 5+ years of experience in a program manager position or simular role
* Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team of developers
* Proven experience developing and implementing technology strategies in a start-up environment
* Experience with modern software development practices, including Agile and DevOps methodologies
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
* A track record of delivering high-quality software products on time and within budget
